FIDS reads the same live feed the airport does and puts it on your wall: every departure and arrival for Dubai International, its scheduled and its latest time, the gate it leaves from and the belt it lands on. The board sorts on the time that actually matters, so a delayed flight sits where a guest expects to find it.

Six board layouts

One screen is departures, another is arrivals, a third splits the two down the middle — you choose per screen from a catalogue of six layouts. Whatever you pick, the board measures itself and grows the text to the largest size that still fits every column, so it is always as readable as the screen allows.

Runs unattended

A lobby screen has nobody watching it, so FIDS looks after itself. It survives a dropped network by holding the last known board on the wall behind a quiet “reconnecting” line, comes back on its own when the connection returns, reloads itself every night to pick up updates, and reports in every thirty seconds so you can see at a glance which screens are live.

Paired in seconds

Setting up a screen takes no software and no login on the screen itself. Point any browser at fids.ae/tv and it opens the pairing page: scan the QR it shows with your phone to claim the screen from your dashboard, or generate a code for the screen you want and type it on the display. Either way the board goes live in seconds. The screen stores only an anonymous key that identifies the panel, never your login or password — and any screen’s code works on any display, so moving a board to a different panel is just typing its code there.

Local weather on the screen

Beneath the flights, the board carries the current temperature for the airport, so a guest weighing whether to leave for the airport reads the conditions and the schedule together. It is drawn to sit quietly under the board, never to compete with it.

Drive time to each terminal

A flight time only answers half the question. The other half is how long it takes to get there, and in Dubai that changes hour by hour. Set your building once in the console and the board carries the live drive time to each terminal you choose, in current traffic, along the bottom of the screen. A guest weighing whether to leave now can see the answer without joining the queue at the desk.

Your own adverts on the board

A flight board is one of the few screens in a hotel that people actually watch, because they are waiting on something it is telling them. FIDS lets you use that attention. Upload your own artwork and the board will carry it — either as a picture that fills the screen between one page of flights and the next, or as a banner along the bottom that stays there. Both are off until you switch them on, both are set per screen, and the console tells you what each one costs before you commit to it.

Tuned to every screen

Each screen is its own record, and almost everything about how it looks is yours to set from the console — no one ever touches the panel. Choose how many hours ahead it looks, 12- or 24-hour time, its theme from thirteen, and how large the text runs. Turn the airline logos and the gate-and-belt column on or off, drop your hotel’s logo into the header, and set the orientation and rotation to match however the TV happens to be mounted. Change any of the settings and the screen updates within seconds.

Six ways to divide the screen

Every screen picks one. Departures and arrivals together, one list at full size, or a weighted split — landscape and portrait each get three, and the board sizes its own type to whichever you choose.

Thirteen looks, one board

Every screen picks its own theme from the console — from calm and dark to split-flap, glassy or a bright lobby light. A theme changes colour and finish only, never the layout, so the flights stay just as readable whichever you choose. Tap any board to see it full size.

Advertising

Two ways to put your own message on the board

A flight board is one of the few screens in a building people genuinely watch — they are waiting on something it is telling them. You can use that attention for your own offers, or sell it to a business nearby. Both kinds are off until you switch them on, and both are set per screen, so a lobby and a lounge need not carry the same thing.

A picture between pages

The board works through the flights a page at a time. Turn this on and your artwork fills the screen as one page gives way to the next — either over the flight lists alone, keeping the header and footer in place, or across the whole screen.

What it changes. The flights are off screen while your advert is up. Before you switch it on, the console works out what share of the time the board is still showing flights, so you can set the length with that number in front of you.

A banner along the bottom

A strip that sits above the footer and stays there, under the flights rather than over them. Nothing is interrupted — a guest reading the board keeps reading it. With more than one banner loaded they take turns, either swapping in place or sliding across like a news channel.

What it changes. The strip takes its height out of the flight lists, so each page holds a few flights fewer and the board needs an extra page to get through them all. Nothing is hidden — a flight simply takes a little longer to come round, and the console shows you how many rows before you switch it on.

Nobody watches a poster in a lobby. People watch a flight board, because it is telling them something they need — and they watch it repeatedly while they wait.
